My favourite thing about General Practice is the variety of practice and forming lasting therapeutic relationships with my patients. I believe in a whole person approach to health care with a focus on mental health and preventative health for the whole family as well as dealing with acute illnesses. I am trained to Implanon removal and insertion, minor surgical procedures such as mole removals. I am affiliated with the Royal Women's Hospital, Mercy and Northern for Shared Antenatal Care.

I am qualified to provide Yellow Fever vaccinations certificates. In my private time I enjoy family life with my wife and three daughters. I started in General Practice in 1979 and still enjoy patient contact. The most exciting aspect for me is the ability to prevent the most common causes of death and illnesses. Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness and renal failure in Australia which can largely be prevented. We are able to prevent heart attacks completely with medication and life style changes. A majority of my consultations revolve around these exciting illness prevention areas. Dr Day prides himself on his punctuality.

I have been working at Harding Street as a General Practitioner for more than 5 years. My special interests are Paediatrics, Sexual Health, Travel Health, Genetics and Womens Health. I have completed a Paediatric Diploma of Child Health. I also have a history in genetics with a Diploma of Genetic Counselling. I believe that a healthy lifestyle is important for everyone in order to maintain and improve health and that preventative medicine is a very important part of my job. Outside of work, my interests include cooking, travelling, and spending time with my dog, Frankie.

I have a broad range of general practice experience and prioritise good communication. My medical interests include Paediatric and Adolescent health, Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Travel Medicine. I work casual hours at Harding Street Medical Centre, so my days can change. I studied medicine at the University of Melbourne upon completion of my undergraduate degree. After finishing medical school, I worked at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne where I was also seconded to Werribee Mercy and Warrnambool Base hospitals.

After working for a few years as a hospital resident, I decided that preventative medicine and the breadth of General Practice was what interested me. In 2018 I began my General Practice training and have greatly enjoyed working in the community.

I am particularly passionate about the health of the LGBTQIA+ community as well as sexual health and am always keen to discuss PreP.

I completed my medical training at University of Melbourne and then spent 3 years gaining hospital experience at Royal Children's Hospital, Sunshine hospital, Northern Hospital. I have also completed a Diploma of Child Health and Certificate of Women's Health. You will find that I like to focus on preventive health and have a holistic approach to your healthcare. When I am not working you will find me bike riding, bouldering, enjoying time with my young family and sipping on a good coffee.

I also like working with older people with complex health conditions. Before working in general practice I worked as a hospital doctor for several years in surgery, and enjoy applying the skills I acquired to perform small skin and other procedures.

When I'm not at work you may find me on the bike path riding (fair-weather only) or running. I like spending time with my family, friends and most of all my new nephew. My passions apart from people are good journalism, interesting places,  good food, wine, the occasional hike, fashion and music.

I graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 2012. 

Since then I’ve been fortunate to accrue a wide range of medical experiences, mainly in internal medicine at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where I’ve completed most of my training before deciding to specialise in General Practice.

My interests are chronic disease management, geriatric medicine and sexual health.

I believe that the doctor-patient relationship is based on mutual understanding, respect and trust.

I see the potential in good primary care and will always aim to provide medical care to the highest of standards.
